The following videos and documents are
samples of FlipBox Productions' work. This page is divided into five
types of samples: documentary, editing, footage, and print.
Perfect Form: Changing the Ideal
Gymnast is a 27-minute documentary that explores the stereotype of the
ideal gymnast, which is presented in the media. With the “perfect 10
complex” set forth in the 1970s by Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci, a push
for perfection is embodied in women’s gymnastics. This stereotype can cause
gymnasts to believe they need to be younger and smaller in order to be
successful. This documentary explores this stereotype, how it is perpetuated
in the media, and how it is changing. By examining past and present
gymnasts, the documentary establishes what is to be the future of women’s
gymnastics.
Real Reds:
Behind the Scenes is a documentary that shows how FoxSports Ohio
produces the Cincinnati Reds' pre-game show. The documentary goes behind
the scenes, showing the crew planning the show, conducting interviews,
working the cameras, and calling shots.
